Marrying a man who have epilepsy?

Tue, 12/06/2016 - 18:14
I am lyn I meet this guy 4 months ago. When I started chatting him I knew his the man am looking for. He's so open about having epilepsy and I understand him about his sickness, I'm heping him for his recovery after having a seizure. Motivates him and give more attention and care. Now he's doing well and get fit and do all that he can. And preparing for his surgery after 3 months. He actually starts to change his lifestyle as what I advise to stay healthy. Now he's working hard and plan for our future to settle down and make our own family for the coming years. I know to myself i love him but I have some issues with my family about him coz of epilepsy. My family doesn't like him coz of his sickness and they want me to leave him. They also pointing the issue of my future children's that they can get from him if ever we build our own family. Now I am confused what to do and to whom I will listen. The voice of my heart or my family? Please, I need some help. Can anyone advise me?

I have been with my husband

I have been with my husband for 12 years now, married for 4. Just like a lot of people mention it is not a disease, its disorder. it is curable or its manageable. My brother had one once when he was little. It can happen to anyone. My husband's seizures started when we were seniors in high school back in 2008. Came out of no where and still don't really have an answer to why he has them. He has grandmal seizures once or twice a year. Longest he has gone without having one is two years. Ive learned to just adapt to our situation same as my husband. It doesn't stop us from being happy and living our lives. Good luck!
