What kinds of meds do yo take?

I was just wondering what kind of medications everyone is taking. My new doctor wants me to get off of Dilantin (have been on for 8 years). He says that the long term effcts are horrible. I tried Topamax and almost got a divorce because of the way it messed up my nerves. It was horrible! Just wondering about it. I go back in June and I am guessing I will be started on a new med. not sure what yet, though.

For my complex partials I take 100 mg zonegran, 600 mg carbatrol, and tri-est- a natural estrogen & progesterone hormone replacement; then at nite 200 mg zonegran, 600 mg carbatrol,the tri-est replacement, and 1 97.2 mg tab phenobarb. I still have seizures. Nothing has worked in any combination.

Hey Wendy, I'm currantly taking 1200 mgs of Trilepital, 300 mgs of Lamictal, & 200 mgs Dilantin. I've been on these meds for about 6 years now. I've also had 3 pregnancies on this dosage of medicines. The kids didn't have any problems either, I even nursed them. Pegi

Hi Wendy, To answer your question, the medication I am currently on is Lamictal. I've reacted well to it! Granted it's not cheap, but I still would recommend it. I used to be on Dilantin as well, but was weaned off of it last year when I told my neurologist my husband and I were planning on starting a family. I've never been on Topamax, but a similar medication called Mysoline made me less energetic. I'm am due to give birth on June 14th and the pregnancy has been great! Hope I have answered any question you may have.
