Topamax and Weight Loss

I began taking Topamax for partial seizures in January, 2005. I have since lost 25 pounds (I am 5' 2" and am down to 102 lbs.). I just really have no appetite most of the time. I am wondering if others have lost weight like this on Topamax and if so, has the weight stayed off, or did you gain it back? I am 42 years old and was diagnosed with TLE in March of 2004. I took Keppra for awhile, but had breakthrough seizures and when my dosage was increased, my hair started falling out. So my neurologist switched me to Trileptal. I had terrible headaches on this med, so started the Topamax this past January. It seems to be working, though I'm a little concerned about the weight loss.

I take topomax now for partial seizures and really experience no complications from it other than the weight loss (which I don't have an issue with because I've struggled with weight my whole life). While I DON'T like the silent judgment I get from people from the amount of food I eat of the "do you have an eating disorder or something" question I'm getting from people at all I like this medication better than any I've ever been on. I took Keppra for a long time and I made me so so so sick I was throwing up like 15 time a day every day while taking 1500mg twice a day of Keppra and couldn't even keep down saltine crackers.

I’ve only ever been on the generic, Topamax, and for me it works really well. Our insurance doesn’t cover the name brand…I wonder how expensive the name brand is as opposed to the generic… So I ordered some Topamax online by searching in Google this 10% off discount code “TOPA2GET”. As far as I know this code can be used as many times as you want.

I’ve been on this medication for a few months. I tapered on slowly and now take 50mg am and pm. I usually got at least a few migraines a month..with aura. I’ve had them my whole life. Some worse than others, some so bad I could’ve gone to the hospital. Since I’ve been on the meds I have not had one migraine with aura. Just a few headaches could maybe be considered very mild migraines. A huge improvement. I’ve also lost 30lbs. I’ve only ever been on the generic, Topamax, and for me it works really well.
