Changing Med's for my 3 year old son

I was wondering if anyone had any advice? My 3 year old son was taking Keppra for about 10 months, and he was doign great, however, the past 3 weeks have been very hard. He's had 3 seizures every week, for a total of 9. Our nuerologists, told us to add Topamax, which we did for the first time last night around 8PM. He then had a seizure at 2:30 am. This morning we gave him his 25mg dose of Topamax, along with Keppra, as prescribed by his doctor, about half hour later he had another seizure.
We seem to think that the meds are causing the seizures? I guess we just feel helpless, and continue to look for answers. I was hoping that by my son taking topamax as well a keppra, that his seizures would stop. However, they have not. granted it has only been about a day since we started the little guy on topamax.
If anyone has any suggestions on comments, particularly in regards to how long does topamax take to start working?

I just read you post and saw that is was from March and I am wondering if things have changed for the better for you. I have a 3 year old on Depakote, just weaned from Keppra and started Topomax. Every new drug scares me and I just wish all this would go away! We are on the road to figuring out why my son has seizures and it is a scarey road! He started with myoloclonic seizures and now has the big ones.
