Your rights

I see people are talking about whether someone should disclose the fact they have epilepsy when applying for a job. If you Google "epilepsy rights" you can find interesting information about what your rights are as a person with this disease. There are websites about a person's legal rights in the US and Canada.

all of these right sound good.  there is only one problem.  juat as when linclon freed the slaves, there is no one to inforce these rights.  be prepared to never had a dream, a acceptable job with reasonable wages or respect from anyone.

as long as you carry a medical diagnosis of epilepsy, employers may hire you but understand,you are a libility to them.  for this reason,you will be treated in such a way theat you may be forced to quit.

instead of quiting take this as a challange and don't. keep a diary fo all that happens  and eplore on the net constructive discharge.  many states still do not recognise this law but then it got started in arizona by one individual who used the courts to make it a law.

i speak from experience.  i was diagnosed with epilepsy when i was 21.  raised 4 kids on  $60.00 a month wages in a company that never saw wages that low.

in 1962 by accident i was referred to a hospital in chicago where one of thir specialties was seizure conditons

i underwent surgery and seizures ended permanently.    now 68 retired no family and alone.

I disclosed back in October 2008 to a employer

in December 2008, I was the only one in that office marked for layoff

to this day... I am still the only one from that office that was laid off

others were moved to other offices

they could not outright fire me... so they "laid" me off while others in the office were transferred to other offices during the reduction in staff process... I was not offered a position in another office
