WHY THEY SAY US DIFFERENTLY

Fri, 02/20/2015 - 21:38

I have had epilepsy since i was 13 and growing up people including relatives would say 'You will never find  anyone no one will want you in their lives with this disorder'. When i finally started my first serious relationship they stopped. But then I had this couple family freinds of my partners start 'Leave her she has epilepsy find another women'.  I was no different to them only that I obviously knew the meaning of  respect and I have a heart.

Looking for a job they were just as discriminative . On the 3rd interview i decided not to tell them I had it and then I got the job.  Why should we have to be discriminated against .

Weight gain from the medication i was a size 10 and ballooned after been on very high doses of Epilim. I was suddenly discriminated against regarding my weight. I ate healthy  we didn't even know what a take away Pizza, soft drink or any of that take out food tasted like and I would always excersise.  But the discrimination kept on going on.

Stress , trauma and insomnia is I believe the biggest part of why seizures occur.  Now I  found out I might have diabeties and I don't even eat cakes and busicuits on a regular basis . I only eat these types of foods during festive occassions.  I put it down to the Keppra that  I have been put on which gives you many different symptoms including insomnia, depression, anxiety and much more which also bring on stress.  I think if we found ways of not been stressed then we would be seizure free but how can you live a life without stress is the biggest question that no one has the answer too.

I have full blown seizures if I stay up past twelve, going to bed early probably is a good idea.
