I am on Dilantin 400 mg, and Zonegran 200 mg at the moment. The Dilantin I have taken for years. My hair comes out by the hand fulls, especially when I wash it. I have headaches alot. The Zonegran is new to me. I have just been on it about 3 weeks. Its making me really irritable, constipated (I didn't have a bm in over a week), I'm tired all the time. But I also have to take Zoloft for depression, ambien because I can't sleep, Fioricet for migraines....you name it, I have it. They give you one thing and then something to counter-act the side effects. I have been on several different kinds of AED's. Dilantin, Depakote, Topamax, Ativan.....

Hi Stephie, I take Zonegran.

Hi Stephie, I take Zonegran. The possible Side effects that they list for this med can be scary (kidney stones, psychosis, and others) but I was just dizzy at first and tired, and I lost a bunch of weight (which I am not complaining about). It controls my complex partials and my simples are mostly controlled by it. Every once in a while I still get the Nasty smell and music, so I guess I better report it to the Neuro...oh by the way my migraines have gotten ALOT better since I went on the AED. I have tried Depakote (was allergic), Topomax, Carbamazepine, before going on the Zonegran. I also take Xanax and Celexa(just switched to this one about 2 months ago) since I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder about 25 years ago.(LOL, probably took about every Antidepressant out there for that one). Best of luck to you, Dayna
