Tegretol Vs Lamictal
Sun, 02/18/2007 - 14:19I have had epilepsy since 15. I am 40 now and my tegretol dosage has been increased over the years to 600mgx2. I had a seizure last week. I suspect my body is developing an immunity to Tegretol. My doctor suggested changing to Lamictal. Does anybody have any experience with a similar switch or experience with Lamictal.

I have had seizures since 16 also.I was first on Dilatin.it like messed me up to much.I went seizure free for few years then had one.Then i went on Tegretol didnt have any for few 2 years i think or 4.then i had one.Now i am on 400mgs of tegretol and 600mgs lamical.So far the 2 are working...yeah!In 2005 i started getting amune to tegretol had seizure.Then i just became a labrat for my doctor.He started to wean me off tegretol and add me on lamical at the same time.it really sucked because i had a really bad seizure fell on a electric heater fried my leg.Finally 2006 he got it adjusted.Last time i had a seizure was 2006 may.Now i am doing fine with the 2 meds.I hope i don't have anymore seizures i so hate them.I have noticed that being on the 2 meds makes me tired...only in the mornings and real late at night.I also found out when i doing things working i am not tired,when i don't work i get tired.My cousin a nurse said it has to do with my metabolism.Sounds right to me.My doctor says i am fine i don't have to change meds. www.myspace.com/aliennation79 www.tagworld.com/alientwilight21 www.alientwilight.deviantart.com
