Hi Ghebre, Your desperation

Hi Ghebre, Your desperation sounds just like mine up until just a few days ago. My Neuro recently recommended me for Disability, and from the looks of things so far, I'm going to get it. Luckily for me right now, I'm living with my Father, and if not at this time, I would have been out on the streets myself. From what they told me today, I'm probably going to get turned down the first time, but in my case, I'll have my Dr, and my rep from Disability on my side. It might be a long, drawn-out process, but I've already received a medical card, and food stamps so I know at least I'm not going to starve. The rep today even told me that if I get turned down, they will help me with a lawyer and the paperwork to get the appeals process going. Until earlier today, I had the same hopeless feelings of being destitute and homeless, but even if I do wind up losing my living situation as it is right now with my Father, they would help me with a roof over my head and making sure that I can take care of myself as far as getting meds and getting to and from Dr's appt's even if it means that if I can't get to a bus close to where I am to get to a Dr's appt, they would take me or even drive me themselves if necessary. Sounds to me like you need to get with your Dr and discuss your condition and your fears of what life is becoming. I don't have anywhere near the work time that you claim to have in my lifetime, and after my recent meeting with my rep, at least now I have a feeling that I'm not going to wind up homeless and hungry. The rep that was here today, even told me to expect a turn down the first time, as if they turn you down the first time just as a procedure. Talk to your Dr about Disability, it sounds to me like you would be a candidate for it.

I take 500 mg a day of lamictal and 200 mg a day of dilantin. I used to be on 2000 mg a day of depakote-which I thought was alot also which is why I switched to the lamictal. I'm about to go off the dilantin-and then the lamictal will be raised slightly. sounds like your on alot of meds but i would always recommend getting a full workup from your neurologist eeg, mri. sometimes seizure activity will not show up on an eeg that will show up on an mri. good luck.

I've had E since I was 11. Started on 200mg tegretol with 3-4 seizures a year. Now I'm taking 650mg of lamictal and still get as many seizures, I think it does'nt matter how much medication or how many mg you're taking as long as you have your E under control.Think of those who are on alot more medications and still are not able to get control of their seizures. B-Happy you are not a vegetable and you can still make your life as good as you set your mind to.
