questions about license suspension in california

Thu, 03/19/2015 - 19:21

im going to try and make this fairly short. over the span of about 7-8 years ive had about 6-7 seizures. all of them but the last two, there were heavy amounts of alcohol and or drugs involved (cocaine). obviously i quit drinking alltogether and dont touch any drugs now, this was around 3-4 years ago. the last one i had there wasnt any alchohol/drugs involved. although i did have only 4 hours of sleep the night before, whitch i think sleep deprivation could play a role in it (im sure red bulls dont help either). long story short, i ended up seeing a neurologist after the last incident. had a mri and eeg, she said everything looked perfectly normal. she ended up reporting it to dmv and now my license is suspended. im under the impression that if your seizure free for 3 months you can get your license back, whitch i was well over that at the time..she said i needed to be siezure free for 3 months WHILE on medication, at the time it was only 2 and a half months while on meds. so basically i couldnt get an extention for the suspension because it had to be another 2 weeks until she could sign it and everything would have been fine. but now im stuck waiting for the 8 week timeframe to deal with getting my license back all for the 2 weeks. basically my question is, couldnt my neurologist of signed it 3 weeks ago when i was seizure free for well over the 3 month mark even if i werent on the meds? im just wondering if it would be worthwhile getting an attorney for this matter. this whole ordeal went from me partially caring about the seizures, to not caring at all and realizing it was a huge mistake even seeing a neurologist

I had everything look normal

I had everything look normal all the 20-25 EEG's and the neuro-angeogram (MRI of the 1960's. But then I fell asleep in another EEG which showed abnormalities. Guess what they then went back to the neuro-angeogram and a closer look they found scared brain tissue. So tell me can things look normal and not be??? It was the same angeogram that everything looked normal in. So what are the things I call seizures where I do not lose conciousness but cant move my hand for a few seconds. Or the wierd feeling in my right hand? If they aren't seizures then what the hell are they? I have wanted to drive for 50+ years. When I was a teen the waiting time was 2 years and not the months now. I went 3 years and the day before my drivers test I had a seizure. If the time limit were 6 months then I could have caused a 20 car pile up on a freeway. So was it wise for me not to take my test and not tell my neurologist? While I would like to drive and I do know how to drive I know what is best for society. Who was it that wrote the law requiring the license to be revoked. You might want to check with the legislators and find out why the law exists rather then griping about a period of time. If you have gone a certain period of time without a seizure does it mean you will not have one? Or does it mean you have been seizure free for that time?
