Please Help - Am I now having a different type of seizure?
Mon, 11/06/2006 - 08:55I am looking for information from anyone who can possibly help me. I suffered from partial complex seizures since I was a teenager (now age 39) and had brain surgery in late February of this year. At the end of June of this year, was when I first experienced what appears to be a different type of seizure.
I do not lose consciousness, but I do get an aura and then experience a very loud noise in both ears. It resembles an extremely loud ringing or the sound of a loud train. I cannot hear anything else when this occurs. It continues for about 1 - 2 minutes, and then stops. When done, I am somewhat disoriented, but without ever losing consciousness.
I am scared to death as it appears that this is now a new type of seizure that I'm having. Any advise or assistance would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Thank you, Sol. I have already talked to my physician and he has ordered another MRI, as well as calling in another prescription. Presently, I take Dilantin (alternating with 400 one day, and 500 the next). I appreciate your help & wish you the best. Sincerely, Josie
