Another name for Lyrican is pregabalin. It was approved for seizures in the summer and has been approved for treatment of pain as well. Take a look at this content on the home page. www.epilepsy.com/medications/b_lyrica_intro.html Hope this helps! Epilepsy.com Resource Specialist

other names pregablin.and sure its been aproved for treatment although insurance doesnt want to pay the high cost of the med. $400.00 for 180 pills, one months worth! been waiting and calling, emailing, bugging my insurance, medicare, doc, etc to get things done but its our government whos refusing the cost. yesterday i was a student with 48 credits on my shoulder, today im back at having seizures too often to go out much. seems insurance would rather pay for a lifetime supply of pheno and tegretol rather than get me on this new med and possibly let me finish with a major where i would start paying for the pills out of my own pocket.MAKES ME SICK the things we gotta go through with aeds and insurances.the maker prices the pills so high we could hardly afford to get them even if we had the cash.kinda brings back memories of ciggarettes being under a dollar a pack back in the day, there isnt much difference.only that taxes on smokes are up and taxes on aeds arent. with enough folks bugging the maker Pfizer, maybe a difference could be made? tell me whos with me and i may post an email to the company as well as 1-800 numbers to the company.any other thoughts and im sure we could work it out. post your thoughts and tell me how many want to bug this place till we get our meds. see you advocates soon i hope.
