Lost, scared, confused...

So for the first time in about five years maybe eight, I had one of my funny panic attacks. Where I hear and see stuff that's from a dream, that I don't think I ever had all well I'm aware what is truly going on around me at the same time and then my heart started pounding and the real Panic starts. In my foolish wisdom I Google searched it and they came to this website and I'm reading all of these people who have gone through this panic attack before and it's epilepsy apparently. I'm going to my doctor this week to see if I could be diagnosed. I think I may have temporal lobe epilepsy since I read the first post I did nothing but cry because I'm not alone. Actually right now I'm sitting in my car crying as I write this. I don't know what to do.

Your experience sounds much

Your experience sounds much like mine, I used to get these weird episodes of what felt like deja vu of a dream, it was very strange and afterwards I would feel very sick and my head hurt.  Sometimes I also would lose consciousness.  I thought I was just incredibly strange until I googled my symptoms and low and behold it was epilepsy.  I have been diagnosed for almost 10 years now and have my epilepsy totally managed with medication.  It is a scary feeling but there is help, you are going to be OK!

Hi Megan,I hope you don't

Hi Megan,I hope you don't mind me contacting you. My Son Jake aged 27 had his first tonic clonic seizure on March 28th 2017. We now realise that he'd been having absence seizures for a year. I thought it may have been migraine related as I suffer with vestibular migraine. He had regular migraine right up until the absenses started. My migraine dr started him on Topiramate, and 10 days before the seizure we'd weaned him off over a three week period. He's now back on Topiramate 100mg daily and Epilum Chrono 500mg twice a day. We saw his consultant last week who increased his dose of Epilum to twice daily.  I suppose I'm after a positive story that this will get controlled and he will be symptom free. Thank you in advance for any advice. Best wishes, Beverley
