Looking for antidepressant that does not interact

Mon, 04/16/2007 - 14:02
I am looking for an antidepressant that does not interact with my anticonvulsants. I have tried Wellbutrin and Cymbalta, but both had a side effects that caused extreme anxiety. I felt like I was going to have a seizure all day long. My doc gave up at strike two. I would like to have another swing at it. I take Tegretol, Dilantin, and Topamax for my epilepsy. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I should try next? I kind of remember my neurologist mentioning Lexapro. Does anyone have experience with that?

Well I have been on Clonazepam for 9 days now it is working very well. It has stopped the panic attacks and the little seizure twitches. The later is a big plus. It is to bad that I will only be on it for a short time. For the first time in my life I feel like I can interact with other humans. No more fear of having to explain myself or my epilepsy. I don't know if the effects wear off or there is a risk of dependency, but I wish I could stay on this med.

I take Clobazam (aka Frisium) which is an anti-depressant as well as an anti-epileptic drug. Not everyone is suitable to this though.

I have been on Clonazepam for 21 days now. The last week I developed a new side effect. I am having sleep induced partial seizures. It makes it real hard to go to sleep at night or take a nap during the day. I called my Neurologist and he said that its just side effects and it will go away. I'm all for taking the good with the bad, but this is ridiculous. I have known this doctor for 18 years and I have always trusted him up until now. Does anyone else ever get the feeling that there doc is not really listening?
