How's your consciousness?

Fri, 02/09/2007 - 18:25
During your seizures? The majority of my seizures I'm in a semi state of awareness, even if I can't respond. I see some things, hear quite a bit. I'm not really thinking though, more like observing. And the only time I can make any noise is when the muscles of my chest stop my breathing and all the air is pushed out of my lungs. Ever had a seizure and be aware that you're not breathing and can't do a thing about it? freaky situation. It's rare for me to lose all consciousness, and what is interesting to me is during those seizures people have told me my eyes remain open, I would have thought they'd close. I was telling that to the epileptologist neuro doc and he looked perplexed, but didn't say why...maybe because i'm only suppose to have TLE. But it made me curious, how is your consciousness during your seizures?

They were from low sodium? hmmm, I'll ask my doc about that possibility, i'm on 1800mg of trileptal, the low sodium would be a problem. It'd be nice if that's all it was! I'm glad you're doing better now:) thanks
