How exactly do aura's feel

Mon, 05/15/2006 - 11:30
How exactly do aura's feel? Can you have aura's and not have an actual seizure? I think I had some this weekend. I went off into like a "spacy" feeling. Like I was tingling and I couldn't make myself snap out of it for a few seconds. I have had a headache since I has these feelings. I have had E a long time, but I am new to all the terminology and so forth. Thanks.

The auras I have experienced

Submitted by Macke on Wed, 2015-01-28 - 05:56
The auras I have experienced have changed but some things have stayed the same throughout. At first, I would start yawning & not be able to stop. It felt like my jaws were going to pop off. My face, according to those who have seen me during an aura/seizure, changes dramatically & I feel it in my eyes. My eyes felt like they were in a clamp & my vision was 'underwater' or 'dreamy'. I also got the 'going down a roller-coaster' feeling in the pit of my stomach that traveled down both legs, dizziness & nausea. I still have everything but the yawning. Instead, now, I begin to clear my throat & my throat feels 'full' or 'thick'. I have complex-partial seizures which appear to be a 'souvenir' from a previous car accident. I can just have a seizure but I also have a manual trigger in my back. At first, I was quite devastated because I couldn't do housework, drive, or anything really & the doctors kept saying I should be able to do it. That's when a physical therapist discovered I had the manual trigger in my back...the action that set off the trigger was slightly lowering my head forward & slightly lifting my arms up--the motion to wash dishes, or do laundry, read a book or hold a steering wheel. After a few years of physical therapy, I was able to get past that but I still contend with the condition when I push boundaries. In any case, I thank Jesus for His healing touch, for my meds (Keppra) and for Young Living Essential Oils.

Hello, I had my first gran

Submitted by aperales778 on Tue, 2019-08-27 - 02:01
Hello, I had my first gran mal seizure on November 25,2018 and have had a total of 3 marked today. I am 42 and severely struggling with my anxiety, depression, isolation, my behavior in general. I get nervous and anxious when it’s noisy and too much going on which causes me to panic and begin to get really sad and begin to cry. What I have noticed 2 out of my 3 is that I begin to feel a certain way, which I believe are auras.  I first smell bleach then begin to stutter and cannot speak clearly or finish a sentence, I loose hearing in my right ear as if it needs to pop, then I hallucinate which causes paranoia and this last about 1 to 2 days. I don’t always have a seizure but since my first one I experience these auras quite frequently and it causes me to become depressed and angry. Right now for me I am trying to learn to live with this epilepsy. I am also trying to find others with seizures/epilepsy to be able to relate and get some support through it all. This is new to myself and my family and it has been hard for us all. Thank you
