How I feel..!!

Mon, 11/03/2008 - 21:22

Hi everyone,

I would really love it if someone could respond to me at some stage.  I am a 32 yr old married lady with two children from Australia.  About 2 or so years ago, I started having what I believed were visions.  What happens is that out of the blue, I go into this vision and its always the same vision, same background music, same scary looking man, same scenes (there are about 4 that I know of that repeat every time) and it is scaring the absolute heck out of me.  I went to the doctors about it as I was having dizziness also and so I was given a CT Scan of the brain and nothing was found.  Everything was A - OK but I still keep getting these visions.  They come and go.  I am 15 weeks pregnant and have not had them since I first found out I was pregnant but last night they started in bed and happened all through the night.  I wake up in a deep sweat and my body is absolutely dripping because they frighten me that much.  I just had another one then while I was sitting on the computer and that is when I decided to search and see if anyone else suffers from these frightening visions too. Mine generally last for about 15 seconds and they make me feel sick from fear straight after. The doctor actually thought it could have been epilepsy but the head/brain scan came back fine.  My husband believes it is all hormonal from the pregnancy but as I said, it has been at least two years that I have been experiencing them and I was not pregnant during that time.  Please help, it is really concerning me and I hate feeling so completely helpless and lost when one kicks in.  Kind regards, Kellie.

I've never had that experience. In fact, I don't ever remember dreams! Maybe it's because I'm on a million drugs. Back to your question - I think you should have other tests done. I don't know what tests, but check it out.

What kind of dr did you see. A neurologist should know.

Now, I know you're on this site, but I have to ask, do you have ep? It's a silly question, just thought I'd ask.

Best regards and hope things get better. Diana

Hi Diana,

I have never been diagnosed, but only had one brain scan a year ago.  That was because I was having these visions and dizziness but the scan came back great so I never went back to the doctor.  It was a GP.  I have not been to a Neurologist and I guess that it is maybe my next step, but I am pretty afraid.  These visions take the life out of me. So bloody scary.  Thanks for responding.  And I hope you are feeling ok.  Kell xx

I know how you feel. My seizures also made me feel very, very afraid and I would get the same sort of "vission" but mine was more auditory, not so much visual. But it was always the same and so scary and I would feel so sick after. I ended up having a major seizure that put me in the hospital and then I was diagnosed with epilepsy and put on medication.

Lately I have been having lots of other weird things happening to me and I am starting to think it may be seizure related. Then Saturday night, I had what I am pretty sure was another seizure, only not the same as the one that put me in the hospital. But Sunday I was sick all day. Tired and moody and head confussion. Now today Monday I feel better, but still really confused and kind of sick to my stomach all day.

And I just feel so lost and alone and confused and I have heard that seizures can be related to hormones and I did start my period on Saturday, too. But I do think that pregnancy hormones can effect things if you are having seizures, too.

Best wished to you. Happy pregnancy!!! Babies are wonderful.
