Recently diagnosed with temporal lobe seizures.

Mon, 10/24/2016 - 01:22
Hi everyone, my wife started having seizures right when she got pregnant with our only child. SINCE then the seizures haven't stop. She started taking keppra, then depakote, dilantin, lacmital, trileptal, topemax, and now she's taking vimpat. All those medications has cause more harm than to help with her seizures. Recently we saw a epilectologist and he reviewed the 4 days EEG that my wife had done at home and he diagnosed her with left temporal lobe seizure. Dr gave us two options 1st. Could be getting a VNS (vagus nerve stimulator) or 2nd. Brain surgery. Does an one has any information about the VNS or the brain surgery? I have read online a lot of stuff but I just want to hear something from someone that has gone thru this already. My wife has also suffer from headaches for about a year now and we saw a specialist in headaches and he gave her an epilectic diet so we're going to try that first. Thank you for reading.
