Periventricular heterotopia/ enlarged aorta and leaking valve?

Sat, 04/02/2016 - 13:10
I've posted on here a few times but I recently had a follow up on my genetics clinic appointment which determined that my seizures were caused by periventricular heterotopia and I guess some people who have that can also have some heart issues so they did so EKG(which came back normal) and an echocardiogram which determined that I have a mild leaking valve which I guess a lot of people do but don't know it because there is no need to check it out but I also have a slightly enlarged aorta but not where you'd typically see it enlarged. To put it short I'm am absolutely terrified, I'm not sure if it's because I was still a kid(15) when I was diagnosed with epilepsy and they had told my parents but not me directly first(I 25 so they told me the news directly) or because I've known for so long but I feel like I'm even more nervous and scared then I was back then when I found out I had epilepsy. Does anyone also have this or know someone who does? I'm really getting scared and stuff. I am seeing a cardiologist in June and I'm really hoping everything is ok. The genetics specialist also said I could have had the leaking valve and en,raged aorta for a while but ther has never been a reason to investigate it do it could be just fine but obviously the cardiologist has to determine that. I'm sure this is kind of just rambling but I would love some advice or "words of wisdom". Thanks, Samantha.
