Natural birth with epilepsy

Sun, 07/26/2015 - 19:00

Hi all! I'm not pregnant yet but recently I have been toying around with the idea of having a natural birth(no pain meds)when the time comes and I'm wondering if anyone has ever done this? I can't remember the exact name of the type I have but they're not grand mal. I was diagnosed when I was 15 years old(now 25). I had 3 episodes in one day and haven't had one since, at least one where I black out, I have had times where I start to feel like I did right before I had my first seizure all those years ago but I haven't blacked out. Anyway back to my question, is it possible to have a natural birth if your seizures are under control and managed by meds( lamotrgine- generic of lamictal)? My pediatric neurologist put me on lamotrgine when I was first put on meds since it's one of the safest for woman I guess. My supposed triggers are dehydration and sleep depervation, though dehydration was the biggest reason I think. I'd love to hear from anyone who has done a natural birth with epelipsy and hear about your experience.
