the ketonegit diet is a way for some people to help control their seizures. There is also a revised adkins diet which is being or has been looked at by the EFA and neurologists. If you have a good relationship with yur neurologist call him and ask about both of the diets.

read about the modified

read about the modified atkins diet. It had helped some people. As far as fully under control??? Depending o what you consider as controlled. I have been seizure free for a period of 3 years. Along with periods on moonths without seizures. As for being completelt seizure free I don't think that will happen to me. I have scared brain tissue in more then 1 lobe of my brain. Doc (my neurologist) and I both know this and I accept that I may not be seizure free but he and I both want to reduce the number of seizures I have been having. We also want to shorten the time in those seizures and teh postical period. We discussed the ketogenic diet but he also told me that it was set up to help treat young kids. He does know that others can be heled. He had seen information on the revised atkins diet and that information is on this site. The reason an older person has a problem with the ketogenic diet is they will eat something that they know is good and they liked. Where as a kid will eat what their parents give them. If  http://www.epilepsy.com/learn/treating-seizures-and-epilepsy/dietary-therapies/ketogenic-diet           http://www.epilepsy.com/learn/treating-seizures-and-epilepsy/dietary-therapies/modified-atkins-diet     Or you can use your search engin be it google or bing and type in ketogemic diet  then type in modified atkins diet, Once the engin bring things up do some research. I hope this helps Joe
