Feeling alone

Thu, 09/24/2015 - 15:08
This is my first post here. And I suppose it may just be more venting. I have had simple partial and tonic clinic seizures for 8 years. I'm also pregnant at this time. So things have gotten more difficult. My boyfriend and family are trying to understand how I feel but they just can't.I guess mostly I just don't know anyone else with epilepsy to talk to. I think my boyfriend would like to lock me on a room until I give birth. So I guess how does everyone else deal with the people in your life that don't understand. I'm just feeling alone.

My seizures were worse when

My seizures were worse when my children were young and I'd be so exhausted after having one. Sometimes it is hard to stay awake after having one or you're disoriented and trying to remember things when your mind feels like a blank slate. I found I had to do things differently than most people. For instance,I got a small toaster oven to cook chicken, meat loaf, small pizzas, etc. I used the microwave to cook frozen vegetables. I also cooked  a lot using a slow cooker and a rice cooker.  I would also make lots of stir fries and rarely cook using more than one burner.
