video monitoring EEG

Fri, 10/31/2014 - 09:24

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has gone through the video monitoring EEG to determine which part of your brain your seizures are coming from....I am scheduled to have this test done and will be admitted to the hospital, taken off all of my seizure meds, and then basically wait for a seizure to take place....after this, they will make a determination as to whether or not I am a candidate for surgery.  If you have gone through this test, can you tell me what your experience was like, how quickly a seizure happened, etc.  It scares me knowing that they're going to make me have a seizure, but at the same time, I want an answer as to why I am having them and hopefully find a way to stop them.  Any input would be appreciated.  Thank you.
