Seizure Calendars and observation tips

Mon, 09/18/2006 - 09:42
Hi everyone, Epilepsy.com is doing a series of articles with Exceptional Parent on different topics about epilepsy and teens. While teens are the target audience, much of the content applies to people of all ages. With each article, we are trying to build in resources that people can use. For now, they are all listed under the Exceptional Parent articles but will be put in a section for easy use. Take a look and let us know what you think. Try out the seizure calendars too!

Hi there: I'm new to the forum and have just been browsing. I ran across this post and felt compelled to respond. I read the articles in Exceptional Parent. They were good. As far as seizure calendars, though, I am still wondering why we are working with paper seizure calendars. I completely agree that there is a need for seizure calendars, or diaries, but why aren't there many high-tech options. There is EpiTrax (which, to your credit you mention in the resource section of your site) and Keppra's flash solution, but beyond that, I haven't found any. Diabetes has lots of software tracking devices and I am sure other diseases do too. Just seems like we ought to be better at using technology to provide us with answers to this often baffling disease.
