Sleep deprived EEG

Fri, 06/12/2015 - 18:21

After being diagnosed with epilepsy a few months ago, I have had my sleep deprived EEG scheduled. I am just wondering how much time I need to take off. I work at a daycare and don't like the idea of being there if I'm not fully able to do my job. Is it just the day of? The day before? The day after? Any help would be appreciated. My test is on a Thursday and I have to stay up until 4am and wake up at 7am. I am up at 630 usually for work, so is it possible to stay up from 630am until 4am? Should I take the previous day off of work so that it is a bit easier to stay up that late? (I'm usually in bed by 10) Also, will my sleep schedule be messed up for the following day, or will I be okay to go at 630 the next morning? Any experience in this would be great. Thanks!

I took the day off before, of

I took the day off before, of, and after. Day before so I could sleep as much as possible until I had to stay awake which was from 12am to my scheduled appointment at 8am. I did my test and when I can home I crashed all day, then I was up all night fighting to get back to a normal schedule. Better safe then sorry, you also don't want to risk a seizure after the test if you're on meds or taken off of them, don't know your situation but I always take the safer route. Get a full amount of sleep before you go back to work.

Take the day of the test off.
