I've had partial seizures for almost four years now without a clue as to what was wrong. "Luckily" I had a general (grand mal) in June which helped them come to a diagnosis. Before, my primary care physicians were clueless -one thought it was Lyme's disease! I have been on 1000mg of Keppra for one month now and had partials two nights ago. I took some valium I had left over my MRI test and it seemed to stop the partials in their tracks. I feel a little nervous today but I think its just anxiety. How do you know the difference between partial and anxiety? I see my neurologist for a sleep deprivation EEG tomorrow and I am sure she will up my Keppra dose once I tell her I had partials this week. I plan to ask if there is any reason why I can't just take valium when I feel them coming on? Seems better than being drugged up all day long. I know stress is a major factor as I have been stressed for 4 years non-stop (job changes, no money, moving, a recent death of a friend, etc.) which is also effecting my sleep. I don't really have any specific questions for you, just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for being here. I have read a lot already and you seem to give great advice and lots of support. Some of you are really suffering, and I feel so bad for all these children. Mine didn't start until 30. Can't imagine dealing with this as a child or the parent of the child.
