New to epilepsy.com

Hello, I've recently been diagnosed after having 2 seizures. The first was during my sleep and the second, which was 2 weeks ago was whilst I was awake, I had a strange feeling and horrid taste in my mouth just before. I've been put on medication and haven't had another seizure since (thankfully) but the last 3 or 4 days I felt as though a seizure is about to begin but then it doesn't manifest into anything. As I'm new to epilepsy I'm wondering if these are auras? Also is it my medication preventing it going any further? It's so hard to describe the feeling but I feel very strange, hear a song in my head (I don't actually know what song it is) the room feels like it's stretching around me then just as I start to get upset it stops! I hope this all makes sense! I'm just worried I guess! Does anybody have any advice at all? TIA

I'd say that likely sounds

I'd say that likely sounds like some kind of aura or partial seizure starting though I am not a Dr. I get sensations like a very potent metal taste in my mouth like you described, very difficult to describe visual sensations of floating spinning dizziness lost sense of time. Numb fingers to hands to arms and numb lower jaw. I don't experience auditory changes that I can remember but I've talked to people who do or that is their main aura sensation. Could be the Rx keeping it from going further but who knows maybe the particular Rx is complicating things or need to up the dose a little? Call your Dr today and explain those feelings. When I get sensations like that I'm about 60 seconds from a complete generalized tonic clonic seizure and try to take some valium or Clonazepam if I can get to it in time which has only worked once. I'm on a different Rx now which seems to be better for me but only been 4 weeks.
