I had a seizure an abulance

I had a seizure an abulance was called and I was taken to the er apparently I had another one   All it takes to diagnosis epilepsy is 2 seizures, If the EMT's didnt see the first one then it might not have been counted. Also which doctors did the tests since most ER's have set doctors and most do not have a neuroligist who specializes i epilepsy. I had 20-25 different EEG's all came back normal. I had one in which I fell asleep in that had abnormalities (spikes ro waves) it was that EEG that showed where in my head the seizure actiivity came from. Without knowin where in the brain to look the neurologists will look fro thngs that are not normal. Fine many WRI's show no changes or anything different then the acerage brain. However the EEG that showed where the electrical impulses were comming from the same neurologist went and checked the normal MRI and looked closer in that area. By checking closer they found scared brain tissue in more then 1 lobe on the left side of my brain. I stayed in the hospital for six days and I was told that I may or m ay not have anotherone   A person can have a seizure from otherr thing other then epilepsy. A person who has diabeties can have a seizure. I have a friend how has a seizure now and then because it is a side effect to one of his heart medications. I had a lumbar puncture an mri and an eeg all of which were inconclusive. A regular neurologist looking at the EEG and MRI and if they see nothing odd everythngs fine and you may not have another. It happens daily. If you want a conclusion to this issue then what you need to do is find a neurologist who specializes in epilepsy and set up a visit. Show him what they did in the ER. Take yor husband with you so he can give his viewpoint. The neurologist may want a longer EEG or one in which you are sleep deprived because you might fall asleep in it and that shows more. ANy way it goes you may get a diagnosis. If it is epilepsy then the neurolgist will prescribe medications that can help stop the seizures. I hope this helps and you get the assistance you need Please come back and let us know how things went Joe
