This Is A Mystery

I don't know where to begin because the doctors aren't sure as to what's going on. Back in October while at work I was suddenly disoriented, dizzy and felt like something was crawling in my frontal lobe and on top of my cranium. It was confusing. It made me panic but when it went away I assumed it had been a panic attack. I got used to these spells happening then I would stop what I was doing and stare into space. My hand would twitch or move and I would sway a bit. These spells made it impossible to think, it was like checking out of reality and I couldn't rember what I was doing. Then it was over and despite being a bit disoriented I would remember what I was doing and continue the activity.

This went on for a few months. I thought I was just zoning out. I have ADD and mild cognitive impairments. About twelve days ago I'd get hit with vertigo, sit down and stare while being unable to think. My left hand started to twitch. Soon my hand was moving back and forth. Then I started rocking. My left arm would stiffen and move beyond my control. I had these episodes 2-4 times a day for 10 days straight then they abruptly vanished. I still get dizzy, disoriented, forgetful and the skin crawling feeling but that's it.

I'm getting my EEG done on Feb 6th. I saw a neurologist, went to the ER a d got an MRI but no professional knows what this is except that it seems like focal seizures. I don't know if I am epileptic or not as of today. But it certainly seems like something neurologically based is going on. My neurologist said I'm too young for focal seizures and too old for absence seizures. I don't think most people my age have MCI. So maybe my brain is unusual for someone in my age group.

I can't wait to have some answers. Thank you for reading.

I was diagnosed before they

I was diagnosed before they came up with types of seizures are what were called petite mal seizures. Focal motor seizures are focalized u=in one area of the brain which control the other side of the body. With mine it is my right hand that is affected. I get a weird feeling for a few seconds, As a teen they would all start like that but they do generalize and go farther, There were times when my right hand would start rising up. If they stopped before it got shoulder high I would be ok in a short while. If it got shoulder high I would go into a convulsion which looked like a grand mal but I was fully aware of everything going on. So yes a person can have focal seizures early I life and late in their life. Epilepsy and seizures do not discriminate. Anybody at any age can have it. The 30-45 minute EEG's can find some abnormalities. But sleep deprived or longer ambulatory EEG can too.
