My baby is shaking-need ideas!

Wed, 03/08/2006 - 21:02
My 21 month old son has a siezure disorder that is awaiting neurologist investigation. He has begun a very strange behavior. Some mornings when he is woken up early(usually not when he gets up himself), he begins shaking like he is extremely cold, with the lower lip shivering too. He is shaking so hard that it is hard for him to walk or hold things. He will be wearing footie pjs and be snuggled under a down blanket with me and he continues to shake and shiver. I have tried putting him in a nice warm bath, but that doesn't make any difference. I had layers upon layers of shirts, sweatshirts, coats, hats, etc on him and he shivered all the way to school one day. He is alert and verbally responsive but is hard to manipulate his body during these episodes. They usually clear up within 2 hours of waking. He has done this waking from naps as well, and seem to be linked to when he is woken up rather than waking on his own. Is this related or perhaps a sleep issue? Please help-this is my baby and I really want to know what is going on with him!
