Migraines or seizures?

Wed, 09/03/2014 - 19:08

Hi there.  Just got back from a visit with my primary care physician and he referred me to neuro and for an MRI.  After several episodes of being overcome by a weird feeling then being unable to communicate, feeling like people are speaking a foreign language, partial loss of vision, not knowing where I'm at although I've been there many times, being unable to remember the names or faces of people I've known for years, confusion...each episode is brief lasting several seconds to minutes, but I have to sleep afterwards for several hours and the next day I have pain on one side of my head.  I have had 6 very intense episodes like this in the past 2 years...then lots of smaller episodes where I will be driving somewhere and feel like I suddenly don't know where I'm at.  Or someone will mention the name of someone I know and I can't recall their face or if I know that person.  Also, after the more intense episodes where I have pain and exhaustion and that nasty hungover feeling I will remember pieces of what happened but not all of it.  I feel like I'm losing awareness of my surroundings but I'm conscious.

my doc says he thinks it could be migraines or seizures.  Do migraine sufferers have these symptoms? Does any of this sound familiar?
