Medicine time is a battle

Wed, 09/16/2015 - 23:46
Hi, I am new I haven't posted before my two year old was diagnosed with epilepsy, complex partial seizures, end of July. We are on our on our second medicine, topamax liquid, she had a very bad reaction to depakene. Anyways to the point I have to force her to take it and hope she swallows most of it I am going to try to get it flavored but in the meantime how do I get her to take it? She has sensory issues and does not do purees and will not take the medicine in smoothies. I'm dealing with ear piercing screaming and complete meltdowns to get her to take the meds. Also her behavior seems to be effected by this medicine is that common?
