Looking for some help..

Hi, I was looking for some assistance. I don't know if i have epilsepsy, but I'm beginning to wonder... All the women in my family have epilsepsy and my aunt and great grandmother died of related complications. My mother suffers very severe Grand Mal seizures and was diagnosed at age 9. Her medication is very strong, and she doesn't work because of the number of fits she suffers. I've only suffered one, at age 2, but not since. I do tend to "phase out" alot, just kind of go into myself and not register what's going on around me. I also suffer very bad migraines, which the doctor gave me medication for. My other problems seem to be centered around sleep- sometimes i think i'm awake but it turns out i've been asleep. During this time i have these wierd dreams, although i never know i'm asleep, where really scary things happen- like people trying to break in or actually being in my house. It seems like only moments pass, but sometimes I'll "wake up" five hours later, completely confused. I also have found myself sleepwalking, a few nights ago i actually left the house and ended up very embarrssed, wearing only my underwear, with no keys to get back in! I did some research and found that sleepwalking may be related to "partial complex seizures". I never sleepwalked as a child, only when i hit my 20's. I don't want to worry my mum by going to her with my concerns, but I'm wondering if I should see a doctor. Do these symptoms sound like a problem? Could i have developed epilsepsy?

You should make an appoinment with your doc, with the history in your family chances are better than most that you do have something not right going on in the brain area, a eeg and/or mri will be a good idea to get, don't take no for a answer and get a second doc to comfirm the findings of the first doc, good luck
