Lamactil

So, 5 years ago I had two seizures (that we know of) - but it was during a perfect storm, I had just been asked for a divorce, my son was very sick, I was drinking probably a bottle of vodka a day, I was eating horribly, turning 40 and stressed out about it . . . anyways, a perfect storm.  Anyways, I ended up having two Tonic Colonic seizures within two weeks.  Got put on lamotrogine and had no seizures for 4 years - then my Neurologist and I agreed I probably didn't need it anymore - went off it (6 week process) then, ends up we were wrong, well . . . come to think of it, he is the Neurologist so HE was wrong!  :-)  Had two seizures, that we know of, in the last few weeks, now starting to ramp back up lamotrogine, 6 weeks - and the side effects are SUCKING this time!   I've had bruising, joint pain, and skin stuff happen - but now thats faded.  But I have NO appetite anymore, I just don't get hungry.  And when I realize "hey, my body needs nutrients - its hard to keep it down, in the morning mainly - after 11am or so, once I've been up for awhile I can keep soups and stuff down.   If I have another week of those side effects I might have to change meds, but I'd rather not subject my body to a new thing.  And for four years I was on this med - with no real problems, and no seizures. Now as I go back on it - this, hopefully it will fade, meanwhile I'd rather this than seizures.  Anybody have any similar experiences with this drug?

MEDS don't always work the

MEDS don't always work the same after you have been taken off them. I would be calling Doc to see if there were other meds that could control my seizures that didn't do this to me. Oh and yes tell him what you posted in here. There are many different meds and they all work. A medication that works for one person may not work on the next. The same with dosages. If you have a good relationship this issue can be handled in a phone call.I hope this helpsJoe
