Don't worry re typos--- we all do it! Interestingly enough, seizures can be associated with GI or stomach symptoms - sometimes they occur together in the same person, sometimes seizure symptoms are mistaken for stomach problems and vice versa! Take a look at the section on epilepsy.com that talks about diagnosing seizures, talking to doctor etc. Evaluation with a neurologist may be worthwhile at some point! www.epilepsy.com/101/ep101_symptom.html www.epilepsy.com/epilepsy/healthcare_team.html www.epilepsy.com/101/101_diagnosis.html Good luck, Epilepsy.com Resource Specialist

Hey - typos don't matter a bit on here - we all do it! I have had epilepsy for about 30 years, although I didn't really get treatment for it until about 3 years ago. I've also had abdominal and gastro problems for the last several years. I had been diagnosed with IBS, colitis and tested for Crohn's disease. None of the treatments worked. I mentioned to my epileptologist that I had noticed since the VNS was implanted (in October), that my gastro problems seemed to be getting better. She is now thinking that the gastro problems are caused by the epilepsy - which really shocked me. I had a 48 hour EEG done in January, and did make a note of terrible stomach pains in the EEG log, and apparently, they tracked to abnormal EEG patterns. Since then, I have noticed that when my seizures get worse, my stomach issues get worse, so maybe she finally has an answer. I'll see her again next week, but I'm hopeful that we've finally found an answer. I had the exact thing happen to me. But it only occured when I was pregnant with my first child. Everything would black out and I could still hear pretty much what was going on. But everytime I had a blackout like that I was always standing . And after I got sat down shortly everything kinda came back slowly to focus. I just assumed it was from being pregnant and not enough vitamins or something. I dont recall having them since but I do remember one weird thing about it I always knew it was fixing to happen before it did. What is that?
