Be  very very very careful by just stopping meds. will cause seizures I tried was a very bad idea if they saw activity on eeg chances are you have epilepsy. At first it's very hard to accept but if you are seizure free this means med's are working be thankful for some of us med's don't work. When you see doctor just be honest tell any side effects and how you fell.

Welcomehelp can be given and yes advice too.If a doctor put you on a medication for diabetes would you slowly take yourself off it?? Or meds for a heart condition? If they said your EEG was showing activity they are talking about certain type of activity. The EEG is showing the electrical activity coming from the brain. If it is normal find. If it shows spikes or waves it is showing activity that is abnormal. Abnormalities, spikes, waves, AKA seizure activity or epileptiform. What a seizure is "It is an electrical discharges hitting wrong in your brain which causes a chain reaction". That chain reaction is the seizure itself.Medications are created to keep those discharges from hitting wrong.Keppra is one of the best medications being used today. It has become the to go medication for seizure control. As for taking yourself off of it. Please do yourself a favor and don't try doing that without the neurologist knowing it. If you do you could go into status epilepticus. Which is one seizure after another and it takes doctors in a hospital to get some people out. Your 4 days in the hospital would be a piece of cake for me since I came to 3 days aftr I got there and didn't get out for well over a month.Your feeling great and not having seizures is what the medication was created to do.You posted you had your first and only seizure Jan 25 2017. You followed it with having another one 30 minutes later. So 2 seizures total that you know of. Research this site and you will find out that you could have been having seizures that you don't know about. Families do get nervous when something comes along that is unexpected. They would also be nervous if rather then epilepsy you had a heart problem. Yes many people have heart conditions when they are young. If the medication are to be taken 2 times a day then take them at the same time every day 12 hours apart unless the doctor states otherwise. That might be one question to ask the neurologist. Another is what type of epilepsy do you have? What type of seizers can you have? With the last 2 questions you can find out a lot and researching can give you more. By doing that and learning about your condition you can then understand things better and yes your family can learn and adjust and get back to being a family with a kid that is like the guy next door.

It is always a bad idea to

It is always a bad idea to stop taking any meds the doctor has u on. If u havent been having siezures, there is a good chance its because of the meds your taking. When u see your neurologist u should tell him if the meds effect u or change the way u feel in anyway. When i was diagnosed, it was after just 1 gran ma. What i didnt know is that i had been having siezures of other kinds for years. My wife brought up things to my Neurologist that I honestly thought were insignificant, and he said those are definitely siezures. You should bring up any abnormal feelings, tastes (especially a copper or metallic taste), smells (like burning rubber), or any strange visions such as dots or lines.Just make sure you dont leave any door left shut. You should take every precaution you can think of, and cover all bases. I hope this advice and this website help you.
