Had a seizure at work, fell 14 ft.

Wed, 09/17/2014 - 05:24

I recently (May) had a seizure that caused me to fall out of a lift while at work, from a height of about 14 ft. I haven't approached the company about medical compensation yet, They have let me return to work now, but only after several months. But because I am an Independent contractor my income has dropped from about 3,000$ a month to about 400-500$, I cant even afford to keep my bills in order. I had enough saved to carry myself for about 4 months, but now my funds have run out.

In my kind of work people get injured on the job all the time and they are compensated by Workmans Comp, I was never offered this and have hospital bills totaling 68,000$ (Not including each ER, Specialist, and GP Ive seen). Im not a litigious person but I feel that there is something I can do. Anyone ever have an experience like this, or know of a Solution?
