EEG results. Worried

Sun, 10/02/2016 - 19:14
Hi all I'm new here. Sorry for long post but am very worried. My 3 year old son has absent episodes and epilepsy is being investigated. He has a severe speech delay and global delay and possible autism. His EEG results came back and we now have an MRI scheduled in less than 2 weeks. I just received his EEG report snd wonders if anyone has experienced this type of report..The conclusion is : The background rythms are asymmetric. In particular, the alpha rythm is not well formed over the right suggesting focal functional or structural abnormality over the right posterior quadrant. Normal sleep phenomena are seen. Hyperventilation and photic stimulation were attempted with limited success due to patients age. No epileptiform discharges were seen during this sleep and wake recording. An MRI of the brain with epilepsy protocol is therefore suggested. Any insight would be very much appreciated TIA Lisa
