Do I have seizures or am I imagining it?

Mon, 11/28/2016 - 18:34
I am a 62 year old female. I came down with “Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibromyalgia” at the age of 40. I get weakness episodes that may be periodic paralysis (or not). I also have a history of hemorrhagic pituitary tumor which has been treated. I get migraines. I have orthostatic intolerance. I have had one abnormal EEG with bifronto-temporal spikes and other abnormalities. Other times, my EEG’s have been normal. I have ischemic changes and “unidentified bright foci” on brain MRI. Flashing lights or other triggers cause my right leg to shake. Sometimes this spreads to the rest of my body and I end up banging around on the floor. I have gotten bruises from this. One time, I cracked a tooth from uncontrolled jaw clenching. I don’t lose consciousness but afterwards, I sometimes get déjà vu and “dry heaves”. I know when I am likely to have this happen because I feel sick in a way that is hard to describe. If I keep one eye shut, I can sometimes prevent flashing lights from starting my shaking. I avoid going out at night, to casinos, to movies and I watch only certain TV shows (with all the room lights on). Some doctors tell me “It doesn’t mean anything,” Other doctors have told me that it is a “conversion disorder” but psychologists and psychiatrists that I have seen say my problems are medical (physical). Another doctor said I might have “focal seizures with generalization”. He tried me on Keppra which helped tremendously but made me so tired that I could not function. He said I wasn’t on a high enough dosage for it to have helped so I was imagining the improvement and he did not follow up. Do doctors not know how to help me so they say nothing is wrong? Are they setting the bar high so my driver’s license doesn’t get taken away? If this is real, I would like to know so I can get some help. Medical Marijuana gives me a headache and dry mouth and paranoia. Zeiss Blue glasses perhaps? Any suggestions?
