Diagnosed a Week ago and Confused

Fri, 10/23/2015 - 12:23

August 18, 2015 (2 Months Ago) I had my very first seizure, I'm 34.  It was at 8 pm and I was on the couch watching TV after putting my 5 yr old daughter and 6 month pregnant with twins wife.  All of a sudden, I opened my eyes and my Wife and Parents (they live 1 mile away) were standing in front of me yelling at me.  I didn't know where i was or what was going on and then the Paramedics were asking me all kind of questions.  I thought it was 2005 and didn't know what house I was in, my own.

After a month of EEG's, MRI's, CT Scans, they instantly said I had epilepsy and wanted to put me on medicine.  Crazy.  I'm a 34 year old man who has never had a seizure in his life and has one and they want to put me on hard core medicine.  So I refused and they insisted so i let them givee me medicine and I just didn't fill it.

Then I did a 24 Hour EEG.  They said my brain waves, or whatever they looked at, in a 24 hour period told them it is Left Frontoral Lobe Epilepsy.  So I was diagnosed 10-12-2015 exactly 2 months and 1 day after having my FIRST Seizure.

Even though I've only had the one, i'm nervous of it happening when I'm holding one of my premie twins, or somehting bad like that when one comes on.  So my main question is this.

How do any of you feel right before a seizure?

Can you feel it coming on?

Is there a way for me to realize a seizure is coming on and stop what I'm doing and sit down or something like that?
