should i lower my dosage of depakote

Hi every body,
it is hecka nice to know I am not the only person out there who feels this way. I been diagnosed with jme about three years ago and they been controlable with the meds i took. I have only had three and all when i was off meds. I been on depakote again for about six months and gained nearly fifty pounds, if i lower my dosagage will i loose the unwanted weight?????? Please get back to me.
Ps if you diet while you are on depakote does it work? or is does it control your metabolism as well as your weight???
