Medicine Effects

Mon, 09/08/2014 - 23:26

I have been taking Lamictal medicine for few months now. I have no side effects with the medicine like what have been mentioned on the internet for the time that I have been taking. But lately I have been getting headaches a lot. Is it possible that the Lamictal medicines only give you the side effects listed only after months of taking it? Has anybody been facing the same problem?

See about adding Keppra to the Lamictal to help the Lamictal...when taking a small dose of it I had found it helped a lot with the smaller seizures that got me worrying about having a grandmal. Ask your doctor about it as an option. Im currently changing from Depakote to Lamcital...I have a great doctor who is a specialist in Epilepsy. I will take approximately 12+ weeks to change me from the depakote to the Lamictal due to the chemical reaction the two have with each other. Depakote tends to increase the effect of Lamictal so as you decrease depakote, more lamictal is needed....also, how long have you been on the lamictal? Did they slowly introduce it like is being done to me or did they just give it full force to you with depakote? I advise you to get second opinions and look for someone who specializes in the field...research your doctor. Also Depakote can cause pancreatitis, weight gain, loss of hair...doctors always blamed me for gaining weight and I eat right...I love veggies and eating good...here I am today constantly getting pancreatitis which can kill me, topped at 230 pounds which I work out to get off and it doesnt come off, and losing my hair as a woman...thinning out bad. It will come back 98% of the time, and pancreatitis will stop, and Lamictal supposed to help me lose weight...while great chance it will help me be in control of my seizures again as well. RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH!!! Be your own advocate! Dont ever take the words of the doctor without doing some research first. One doctor was prescribing me a medication and I ask the pharmacist..."Any interactions with my Depakote?".....they said can make my white blood count go low. I dont read those attachments, I ask first hand so I know I understand...those papers cant answer questions for you but a pharmacist can. good luck....feel free to contact me on facebook if you want to talk more about it.
