Lamotrigine - double vision!

Thu, 06/22/2017 - 15:33
Hi everyone! On Here on behalf of my mum who is on lamotrigine and sodium Baptiste. We really don't want to mess with her dose as it's too risky but she's suffering with horrendous double vision from the meds and I wondered if anybody else did and if there was anything she could do to cope/manage it better ?

Sodium valproate...NOT Baptiste

at one point our child's dose

at one point our child's dose of lamotrigine, while moderate, caused vision/nausea/other problems 60-90 minutes after taking her meds but would wear off over few hours (I equate it to a dose that was toxic for her).  it took a month to prove it was the meds and not a variety of other causes. I asked the doc what we could do to really prove it was that meds and she thought it wasn't but suggested switching dosing from twice a day to three times and that did it, no more problems. if our child could swallow pills whole, switching to extended release would be great. if these side effects are all the time and from the meds, switching medications would be appropriate. ---> do not mess with dosages or change drugs without the neurologist, don't like your neurologist? switch docs
