Lamictal change of dosage problems

Thu, 02/23/2017 - 14:17
Hi, I'm 11 years post treatment for brain cancer and been on generic lamictal (150 2x daily) for about a year and a half. I was having some breakthrough partial seizures so we raised the dose to 150am 200pm. I had horrible side effects, nadeau, insomnia, anxiety, mania, trembling hands. Anyway, we cut it back to 150 2x daily last Saturday and while most of the symptoms have subsided I still have an bad mood swings (one second find the next bawling) and seem to be having more seizures. My doctors say this should be cleared from my system by now. Has anyone had an experience like this? If so how long till you were "normal" again? We're waiting on insurance approval to switch to the brand version lamictal. Appreciate any and all advice. Thanks
