Keppra preventing auras

Sun, 07/05/2015 - 12:03
I have acute generalized seizures that only occur every year or so. Normally I get an aura and I'm able to prevent a seizure after putting my head down. However I was put on Keppra about 5 months ago. As on schedule I had an episode. However, this time there was no aura and I wasn't able to prevent a seizure. Prior to this I had a seizure 5 months ago and prior to that only had seizures in my sleep. Last major seizure was 5 years prior. Is there an alternative that does not prevent auras? Or maybe just live without medication? I don't see there being any benefit if I can't even tell when they're coming. Thanks
