do you take anything in addition to keppra?

I only take 500 mg 2x day of keppra. Since October 2015. They tried increasing keppra in November but I didn't tolerate it well. After another abnormal eeg at the end of January I was out on 25mg lamactil 2x a day in addition to the keppra. I was in lamactil for almost 2 weeks when I developed a bad rash they had me stop the lamactil immediately. It was working so well so I was bummed. I was feeling great. Now I'm only on the keppra again for the last couple of days I am feeling horrible. They are trying to get me on oxtellar xr but my insurance won't cover it. The Neuro has to file an appeal. I know weight gain isn't as bad as having seizures but I do not want to gain any weight. I'm 170 lbs. I was wondering what you take with keppra so I can be prepared if oxtellar isn't approved by insurance. How is keppra and topomax together? I have partial seizures. Thanks

People can take many

People can take many different meds coupled with keppra or it's generic. I have been using it for a long time and yes the generic works just like the name brand. Keppra is easier and quicker to spell, Right now I take keppra and Vimpat. the combination has shortened the time in my seizures. I have the same seizures I was having 10 years ago. Back then those seizures were 5-8 minutes long and recovery time was 15-45 minutes. Today those seizures are 2-8 seconds long and the recovery time was 2-8 seconds, I have had seizures while talking to people and they knew nothing about the seizures. As Amy Jo posted generic keppra is less expensive. I have used 5-6 generic makers generic. Let your neurologist think of the medication he wants you to use since he has patients on meds and knows how they are helping those patients. Understand that finding the right medication and dosages does take time and since you just started last oct then you already have 1 medication set
