wlcome to the club  The number of meds yo u have tried is on a list that is small to the number of medications they have been using to stop seizures. The neurologist will generally prescribe a medication and set the dosage at levels they know are working because they have patients taking that med at that dosage. A medicatioon that works for one person may not work for the next. You did not say how long it was before you got off keppra or vimpat. Side effects do happen. I am not saying they don't. I also know that those side effects last a period of time while the doctor is getting the theraputic levels set. The number of people who do keep the side effects is around 5-8%, If your neurologist has a list of most of the medications used to treat seizures then take about 5 away and thats how many I have used. Stay on the ones you are now, Oh and there are ways to help keep your memory going. I remember my address from 60 years ago. I remember the essayy I wrote back in 1964. I remember the prose or poems I had to memorize in 1969 . It just takes finding a different way to stash it in a different area of the brain. Basically what your brain is is a computer. Ok when you want to save something on your computer you hit save and it's saved. Well your mind does the same thing without hitting the save key. Find a way to get into your memory and you have different ways to do that with all computers and yes you too can find a way. For me my reading was slowed down. But in slowing my reading down I could actually memorize most of the imformation and give it back verbatimly

If you had memory problems

If you had memory problems and depression on all of them, then it probably wasn't your medication. You probably have a memory disorder and probably had depression.

Really?  You have to say that
