Stomach Bug and Seizures

Hi,
My 19 month-old-son has had two seizures within the past two months and each has been as he is getting over a stomach bug. Thankfully all test results have been normal (EEG, CT Scan and MRI with and without contrast) Our ped neuro started him on Tripletal and lately he has been extremely fussy and moody. I realize part of this may be due to the age but it truly seems to have gotten worse since the meds. In addition, he has a birthmark on his head, a nevus sebaceous, our neuro does not seem to think there may be a link but the lit suggests that sometimes there may be.
Has anyone else out there only had seizures following a GI bug and/or have the same birthmark?
