Working with epilepsy, my obligations

Thu, 06/29/2006 - 07:43
I have a question about my obligations in the office. I know I am obligated to give a final answer to the boss. He has been so incredibly wonderful and understanding! (Would it be appropriate to send him a thank you card?) Aside from my boss, who isn't in all the time, am I obligated to inform anyone in the office that I a) have epilepsy and b) am on a new medication and don't know how it will affect me? If I'm not obligated to and I know my office is a very supportive environment, SHOULD I?

I don't think you would be obligated to, but it may be a good idea to do that. He knows you have E? Do your co-workers know? In case something were to happen, I probably would tell the boss at least. If something happened to you in the office and he was not there, he would probably be notified. At least he would know what was going on and possibly help. My boss knows about mine. As a matter fact, I told them about my "episodes" last night. Just a suggestion. Thats what we are here for! Hope you have a great day.

Boss knows. I had to tell the boss. I'm just wondering if I should let someone else in the office know.

It would be a good idea. I also made an index card with all my information on it and told some where in my purse it is.
