Work or Resign

Sat, 11/07/2015 - 19:11

I currently work in a medical setting where speed & accuracy happens to be everything. However; I am currently on multiple medications for my grand-mal seizures. The medications are keeping me seizure free, but as a result am always drowsy and sometimes forgetful. I try to compensate by being extremely accurate even though I am a lot slower than a majority of my co-workers. I hardly have any issues when it comes to accuracy and am complimented on it by my superiors despite the medications. The major issue that I have been having is regarding my speed. Since I have been working there, 50% of the time I am exposed to either some type of harassment, embarrassment or negative comments about me behind my back as a result of my performance. I love my job & I appreciate my supervisors who are very accommodating to me as a result of the epilepsy.I don't know what I should do regarding my coworkers. H.R. has been notified multiple times by my supervisors, yet it continues for me. Every week I dread going to work because of some of my coworkers, but am glad to know that I am helping others because I am in the medical field. Should I continue working at this job despite the circumstances or resign? Help!!!!

use some common sense. When I

use some common sense. When I was working I was slower then the people arround me. Supervisors would discuss this issur with the managing director. When in sales call times were supposed to be faster and the person on the phone was to have a sales ratiio of 17-20%. The director told them to leave me along since I was making the sales and what I did kept the customers happy. I was to follow a script. I know what the script said but I changed it to go better with my knowledge which meant I knew the mail points and I did have them in what I said. When the supervisor brought up the time he brought up my sales ratio which ran between 50-70%. He said I may be slower but I was covering sales not made by the people that kept their times where they were supposed to be.If you like your job and know you are doing a good job and your supervisors and HR  are backing you then stay there and do what you are doing. A person that keeps things right and moving with fewer mistakes is a person I would keep. I know I also a co owner of a small company and we did hire people who did the jobs right rather then fast. Fewer mistakes with better results can and do over ride speed. Remember the race Turtle against the Rabbit??? I hope this helps Joe
